Hey there gorgeous!
This morning, after stepping out of the shower, I caught myself in a familiar pattern of criticism. My eyes were drawn to my stomach, and the internal dialogue took negative real quick. But then I paused and reminded myself of an important truth: I don't have to love every single thing about my body all the time, but I can choose how I perceive myself and talk to myself. πͺ
This realization is powerful. Self-compassion isn't about forced positivity or toxic optimism. It's about treating ourselves with the same kindness and understanding we would offer a dear friend.
It's okay to have moments of doubt, but it's equally important to recognize (and reframe) those critical thoughts. π€ As the wonderful Maya Angelou once said, "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better."
On another note, a quick update - I've been under the weather, which is why the follow-up video I mentioned hasn't been created yet (crossing my fingers that my voice returns to normal by the time I record instead of the hoarseness it is right now.). But I'm committed to getting that done this week, so stay tuned!
Remember, your worth is not determined by a number on the scale, the size of your jeans, your reflection, or anything else. You are worthy, exactly as you are, right now Reader. π
